C. W. Wagner and daughter, Miss Katherine of Mansfield called on friends in the city Monday.

Mrs. Harnley and her daughter, Mrs. Ludwig of Ashland spent a day at Mrs. Ed Murray's last week.

C. B. Sattler left Tuesday morning for a weeks visit in Indianapolis.  He will stop at Columbus while en route.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mayner and daughter Emily have returned from a couple weeks' visit in Myersdale, Pa.

Miss Mabelle Walker spent last week with her aunt, Mrs. Ida Burge, in Wellington and also attended the fair.

Miss Faye Smith of Cottage street left Tuesday for a several weeks' visit in London, Columbus and Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Alice Murray and son and daughter Bernice have returned to Dayton after a visit here with relatives.

Mrs. Frankie Davis and son of South Bend, Ind., are guests of Mrs. J. W. Fair of Cleveland avenue for the week.

Master Raymond Harnley and his sister Vivian of Mansfield are visiting at the home of the uncle, George Brokaw.

Miss Katherine Gregg returned Monday evening from Cedar Point, where she has been spending the summer.

Miss Maize Harris of Chestnut street returned Tuesday morning from a pleasant visit of two months at Otega, N. Y.

Mrs. Z. Emery of Rows spent Monday at the home of her son, Dr. W. F. Emery, in this city and left this morning for a visit in Middletown.

William Hershey of Steam Corners and Miss Minnie Sheller of Claremont avenue went to Columbus Tuesday morning to attend the state fair.

Mrs. Cyrus McConnell of West Washington street left Monday for a week's visit in Detroit.  She was accompanied by Mr. McConnell as far as Toledo.

Carl Benner returned Monday from a week's visit in Barberton.  Mr. Benner sang several selections at the rededication of the U. B. church in that city Sunday.

Drs. Dove of Shelby and Mohn of Ashland were called last week as counsel with Dr. Rasaberry for Mrs. Charles Shriver, who has been seriously ill the past week.

The mid-week prayer meeting of Trinity Lutheran church will be held Wednesday evening this week at the  home of Mrs. Maria Foulk and Mrs. John Killhefner on Pleasant street.

Miss Marie Moreton of East Main street left Tuesday morning for a several weeks' visit in Columbus and Cincinnati.  she expects to return by way of Steubenville.

Carl Vermilla and wife, Claude Butdorf and wife, Ed White and wife and Clyde Claburg and wife returned home the first of the week from an outing at Ruggles Grove.

Miss Lola Newkirk returned Monday from an extended trip in north and east - Sandusky, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Camden, N. J., Atlantic City and other points were visited by her while away.

The trolley party that was previously announced by the ladies of the Congregational church for Mrs. E. P. Smith's home will take place next Thursday.  Dinner at 12 0'clock.  All friends are invited.

The Big Wooster Fair - Sept. 9th, 10th, 11th.  Bigger and better than ever this year.  John L. Sullivan and Jake Kilrain will positively appear in scientific exhibitions of the art of self defense and talks giving their experiences.

Word has been received here that Miss Carrie Pille, who has been spending the summer abroad, left for New York Sunday, Aug. 30, on the Latricia.  She expects to reach Ashland on or before Wednesday.
