LUCAS -- Mrs. Kate Tannehill has applied for
divorce from her husband, C.O. Tannehill. Years ago, Tannehill was a
prominent and prosperous citizen of this place. He was mayor of the town
and stood well in the community. He became involved in financial
troubles however, and suddenly left for parts unknown. Nothing was known
of his whereabouts for several years, but he was finally located in the
"No Man's Land" of Indian Territory. The divorce is asked for
on the grounds of desertion.
In the issue of the RICHLAND SHIELD &
BANNER dated 01 February 1896 (Vol. LXXVIII, No. 38), the following additional
information was provided:
PERRYSVILLE -- Kate Tannehill has been granted
a divorce from her recreant husband, C.O. Tannehill, and restored to her
former name, Kate R. Coulter.
