Quite a number of people from here attended the farmers picnic at Greentown and report a very enjoyable time.  Prof. Byron King, of  Pittsburg, entertained the people in a very pleasing manner, as we all know that he is capable of holding an audience spellbound.  There were other speakers who were also entertaining.

Mrs. Jones and Barbara and Elsie Fike visited friends and relatives in Wayne county last week.

Miss Bessie Stofer will visit with her aunt, Laura Myers, for a week.

We understand that Arthur Kiser, of Wayne county, visited at the home Frank Humphrey and family the last of the week.

The masons have about completed the wall for Daniel Kick's new house, which will be completed in about two weeks.

D. C. Heefner, who threshes with Frank Helbert, had his hand badly cut while cutting bands.  Earl Heefner had one of his fingers hurt not long on the same machine.

The members of Bethseda Chapel met last Saturday and erected sheds on the hitching ground for hitching horses in during services.

Mrs. W. T. Bittinger and Harry and Leah expect to go to Chicago during the national encampment.
