Misses Bertha and Ada Kerr of Ashland are visiting with Daniel Musser, wife and other friends in and near Nova.
Mrs. Lee Fortney of Nankin was in town on business one day last week.
The rite of baptism was administered to four persons at the M. E. church last Sunday, two were taken in on probation and three others into full connection at the same time.
Mrs. Umbaugh and Mrs. Golding of New London were the guests of Jame Walker and wife last Tuesday.
Died at the residence of his father, Mr. John Phillips on the 9th of the month. Dr. S. P. Phillips, the deceased, was born in Troy township Sept. 2, 1853, aged 41 years, 15 months, and 7 days. Dr. Phillips graduated from the Pulte Medical College at Cincinnati, practiced medicine at Hicksville, Ohio and afterwards at Fr. Wayne, Indiana.
