Imhoff, William - Wm. Imhoff, a prominent resident of Milton Township, Ashland County, was killed by the Erie pay car at Frogtown crossing, one mile east of Ashland, at 11:30 today. He was driving to Ashland and was crossing the railroad track at the above named crossing when he saw the pay car soming, already too close for him to get his team off the road. Thinking it his only chance to escape, Mr. Imhoff leaped from the vehicle and started to run. The engine struck the wagon, throwing it against Mr. Imhoff, knocking him about forty feet. Two holes were found in his head. The car was stopped and the injured man was carried to the farm house of a Mr. Thorp, where he died shortly afterwards. Mr. Imhoff was a well known farmer and was aged about 55 years. He leaves a wife and family. Submitted by Amy. Imhoff, Catharine (Vesper) - Mrs. Catharine Imhoff, wife of Henry Imhoff, died January 25, 1881, aged 32 years, 3 months and 25 days. She was the eldest daughter of Michael & Catharine Vesper; was born September 30th., 1848; baptized in infancy, and united with the German Reformed church, March 29th., 1863; received a letter from said church in order to join the United Brethren Church, of Ashland, April 1874. Married to Henry Imhoff, August 2d., 1873. Sister Imhoff was an excellent and useful Christian, and the church feels deeply the loss, but rejoice that her end was a glorious triumph. She has left a husband and four little ones to weep with sad and broken hearts ... The father and mother, with six brothers and five sisters, are also left to mourn over her early departure ... Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Ashland, January 27, 1881, where a large congregation met to sympathize with the bereaved ones. Ingman, Rebecca Boyd - DIED -- On Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1882, at her residence near Jeromesville, Mrs. Rebecca M. Ingman, aged 41 years, 7 months and 17 days. Mrs. Ingman was a daughter of Mr. Jos. Boyd, and was born and raised in this township, and was very highly respected by all who knew her.
