Tannehill,Mrs. C.O - GREEN TWP. -- Mrs. C.O. Tannehill was buried last Sunday, the 10th. inst. She had been lingering for some time past, and Mr. Tannehill leaving off business as much as he could, devoted his time to her comfort. Taylor, Don - The news of the death of Don F. Taylor, formerly of Ashland, but latterly of Chicago, will be received with surprise by his Mansfield friends, for he had many here who were intimately associated with him in his younger days. Don was an aggressive Democrat. He was deputy probate judge of Ashland County from 1876 to 1882, and was a clerk in the Ohio legislature two terms. He went to Chicago a few years ago and was connected with a firm at the stock yards. He afterwards was appointed deputy United States marshal, and was detailed as court bailiff in Judge Grisscup's room. He came back to Ashland about six weeks ago sick and enfeebled. Death came Saturday evening at 6 o'clock, and te burial took place Tuesday at 2:30. He was about 47 years of age and leaves a widow and four children. Taylor, Evelyn - Ashland. Mrs. Evelyn Taylor, 60, of 325 1/2 Orange St. died Wednesday at the Good Shepherd Home following a long illness. Born in Ashland Oct. 14, 1919, she was an Ashland resident most of her life. Mrs. Taylor was a housekeeper and a homemaker. She is survived by nephews and nieces. Graveside services were to be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Ashland County Memorial Park by the Rev. Arden Gilmer. Heyl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Submitted by Linda and Shirley. Terry, Irene L. - Irene L. Terry, age 91, of 803 S. Mt. Vernon Ave, Loudonville died Saturday afternoon in the Loudonville Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born March 1, 1898 in Toledo, Ohio and was the daughter of John and Ida Hess Rupert. Mrs. Terry was employed for 18 years at the Franklin County Department of Human Services retiring in 1958. She was a member of the Second Church of Christ Scientist in Columbus, Ohio and a former member of the Loudonville Music Club. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Anne) McClure of Loudonville; one granddaughter; and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Derwalt of New Concord, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Terry, in 1970 and two sisters, Ella Creasy and Helen DeHoff. Graveside services were held in the Rosehill Cemetery at Massillon on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Dr. William Creasy. Memorial expressions may be made to the Loudonville Emergency Squad. Thomas, Sebastian - Professor Sebastian Thomas, who for a number of years past has been superintendent of the Ashland public schools, died at his home in Ashland, Thursday night. Thompson, Charles - Funeral services for Charles H Thompson, 75, of 312 Vesper Street, who died Sunday will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Dr. Joseph Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. Born April 3, 1894, he was the son of John E and Sarah (Edwards) Thompson. Survivors include his widow, Ellen, Six daughters, Mrs. W.H. (Dorothy) Mielke of Norwalk, Mrs. Marlow ( Mary) Oxender of Columbus, Mrs. David (Beverly) Dull of Shelby, and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Miller, Mrs. Floyd (Marjorie) Denslow, and Kathleen Thompson, all of Ashland; Two sons, Charles E and Donald R both of Ashland; 26 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Trerise of Willard, and Mrs. Florence Coe of Plymouth. Thompson, John - John Thompson, 84, of Mifflin township, Ashland County, died At the home of Miss Freda Zehner, 414 West Fifth street, this morning after a brief illness. Mr. Thompson was born at Jeromesville, Jan. 1, 1863. He has no known survivors. The body is at the Wappner funeral home where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m., in charge of Rev. Herman L. Treace, Harold. - Ashland. Funeral service for Harold J. Treace will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Denbow-Primm Funeral Home with Rev. Carl B. Cawood officiating and Dr. J. Perry Prather assisting. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park where the Ashland VFW Post 1906 will participate in full military grave side services. Mr. Treace, 51, 811 College Blvd., died in Samaritan Hospital Wednesday morning after a long illness. Born in Jeromesville Jan. 30, 1910, he was the son of Charles and Hazel (McCluggage) Treace. He resided in Ashland County most of his life. He graduated from Jeromesville High School in 1928 and Ashland College in 1932. Mr. Treace was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U. S. Army and for the past 19 years had been a teacher at Mansfield Reformatory. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member also of Company E, the 145th Infantry, 37th Division; VFW Post 1067 where he was post commander, a member of Ashland Elks Lodge No. 1360 and a former member of the American Legion. Mr. Treace belonged to many teachers? organizations. On Oct. 7, 1932, he was married to Teresa Costello who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Dixie) Goodheart of Springfield, Va. and Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Dugan of Columbus; his mother, Mrs. Hazel Treace of Columbus; and five grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Denbow-Primm Funeral Home where the Elks Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 9 p.m. Submitted by Linda and Shirley. Typed by Terri McGrath. Trease, T. Roy - T. Roy Trease , 77, of RD 1, Loudonville, died Monday Night in Kettering Hospital. The son of Daniel and Mary (Overly) Trease, he was born March 23, 1892, in Lake Township. Mr. Trease had lived in Loudonville most of his life except for 18 years spent in Cleveland. Survivors include his widow, Luella, and one sister, Mrs. Elva Martin of Bradenton, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Banks Funeral Home, Loudonville. Burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be any time at the funeral home. Trimmer, Jay -- Jay Trimmer, well known in this place and a former New Haven boy, who for several years has conducted a livery business in Ashland, died at his home in the above place, Monday evening, from pneumonia. Tucker, Bertha Mabel - Ashland. Bertha Mabel Tucker, 78, formerly of 438 Markley Ave., died Wednesday afternoon at the Good Shepherd Home after a short illness. Born Dec. 13, 1908, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of David and Mary Ellen Rine Claypool. She was a resident of Ashland County all her life and retired in 1974 from Samaritan Hospital where she had been a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Tucker was affiliated with Grace Brethren Church. Survivors include two sons, Richard and Kenneth, both of Ashland; two grandchildren; one sister, Idella McDonald of Ashland; and one brother, Chester Claypool of Ashland. She was married Jan. 8, 1929, to Raymond O. Tucker who preceded her in death in Aug. of 1985. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Raydina Lee in 1976. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Vulgamore officiating.  Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Region 4. Submitted by Linda and Shirley.
