Vail, Carrie - Columbus. Mrs. Carrie Vail. Word had been received here of the death Saturday of Mrs. Carrie Vail, 81, a former Mansfield resident and sister of Mrs. Lottie Latimer of Hayesville. Mrs. Vail, widow of L. Wade Vail, died at the Parkwood Nursing Home in Columbus. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Olive Macy of Columbus; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 P.M. at the Hayesville Methodist Church, with burial in the Hayesville Cemetery. Submitted by anonymous ( Mansfield News-Journal 24 March 1958).

Vines, William G. - William G. Vines, 47, owned Bills Front Row Limousines - William G. Vines, 47, of Ashland ended his earthly time on Monday, April 26, 2004, and will continue his journey into heaven following his half-year battle with small cell cancer. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland. The Rev. Thomas Snyder will officiate. Interment, at Pioneer Cemetery in McKay, will follow. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at the church. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to either: Ashland County 4-H Endowment, 804 U.S. 250 E. Ashland, Ohio, 44805; or Gideons International, P.O. Box 5, Ashland, Ohio 44805-0005. He was born in Ashland to James E. and Janet L. (Fulk) Vines and has been a resident of Paradise Hill area for all his life. He married Jane A. Nickles in Ashland at Christ United Methodist Church Jan. 7, 1978. She survives. He started his young life helping his father with dairy farming, became an independent life insurance agent from August 1988 to present and was owner/operator of Bill's Front Row Limousines business in Ashland for many years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, served on Milton Township Board of Appeals and loved people, traveling and making people feel special.In addition to his loving wife, he is survived ny mother Zephyrhills, Fla.; a son, Tyson James Vines, who is attending Ohio University in Athens; daughter, Abby Rose Vines who is attending Ashland High School; two sisters, Mrs. Susan (Donald) Oswalt of Cornelius, N.C., and Mrs. Lynn (Chris) Coy of Dublin; and a brother-in-law, Bill Ownings of Mansfield.
