[Mansfield News Journal, Monday, 8 April 1991, p.4A] Woodhouse, James - DIED -- Friday evening, January 5, 1881, of complex diseases, James Woodhouse, in the 19th. year of his age. Jim has been an extreme sufferer for a year or more, but as long as it was possible he was seen about the streets attending to his business. He had a hip joint disease which prevented him from getting out of the house and made it excruciatingly painful to be lifted from his bed or to receive his necessary attentions. He was a boy of fine business attainments; polite and gentlemanly in his dealings; respected as an honest tradesman and consequently a favorite. His death is a severe blow to his mother, who but a short time ago buried her husband. May she feel that "He who tempers the wind to the shorn lamb" will not fail to heal her bruised heart.
