MR. EDITOR -- Will you please permit space in the columns of your valuable paper, for the report of a successful term of school which closed on February 25th., in sub district No. 5, Milton Township, taught by Miss Frank A. Anderson.  Long ere the hour of one o'clock the house was filled to its utmost capacity.  The exercises consisted in the examination of several branches, which showed that the little boys and girls must have been very studious and diligent during the term or they could not have answered the numerous questions that they were asked them by their teacher.  After that the time was spent in listening to declamations, recitations, essays, songs, correspondents, dialogues, and budget of fun, which reflected great credit on both teacher and scholars.  The valedictory by Jonas Sattler was well written and delivered.  Good addresses were made by several who were present.  The term report was read which showed an enrollment of 46, an average per cent of attendance of 92.  There were ten scholars present every day during the term, viz.:  Eliza Gongwer, Laura Hartman, Viola Baum, Mary Gardner, Carrie Gardner, Janie Douns, David Shearer, Frank Hartman, Harry Shearer and Maurice Gongwer.  Emma Brubaker received the honor in the writing class;  Nettie Sattler in grammar and spelling;  Viola Baum, Laura Hartman, Emma Ohl and John Daniels in geography;  Joseph Soles and Grant White in arithmetic;  Alva McClain and Grant White in reading.  In the primary department, Solie Wertman, Francis Ohl and Henry Hartman ranked first.  After the parting address by the teacher we separated, hoping that we may have the privilege of enjoying many more such last days of school.
